My Simon XT keeps beeping since my power went out?

How to stop the beeping on my Simon XT keypad when the power goes out?

Trouble beeps-
Your security system is able to automatically test itself for:
• Power failures
• Low batteries
• Nonworking sensors
• Communication troubles with the central monitoring station

When your security system detects one of the problems above, six rapid beeps sound every minute until the trouble condition is corrected. To stop the trouble beeps, press STATUS or arm/disarm the system while the trouble condition exists. Trouble beeps will resume four hours later unless the trouble condition is corrected.

The following list explains the trouble beep conditions:
AC power failure. This condition (if programmed by installer) occurs if your security system has been accidentally unplugged or if there has been an AC power outage. Any status lights go out immediately, and trouble beeps start after five minutes. If you press any button, the display will light and pressing STATUS will show the AC failure. If AC power is not restored within a programmed period of time (5 to 254 minutes) the system will call the central monitoring station. The backup battery, if fully charged, will last for 18 to 24 hours — depending on the load applied to the panel — with no AC power.

System battery failure. This condition occurs if the emergency backup battery has failed. Trouble beeps will start. Press the STATUS button and the display will show System Low Battery. If your AC power is not working, your security system will shut down once the battery has failed. If the condition does not clear after AC power has been restored and 24 hours have passed, call your security system dealer.

Trouble Alert Icon on your 2GIG System-
If the system detects trouble, it will flash the trouble alert icon on the Security Screen and sound three alert beeps every minute. Scrolling text along the top of the display also describes the trouble condition(s) that exist.

The trouble alert icon displays a number in the upper right corner that is the number of current trouble alerts. ICON

The trouble alert icon will flash until the trouble alerts are acknowledged, then it will light constant until all the troubles are corrected. When all troubles are corrected, the icon will disappear.
1. Press the trouble alert icon button to display all current trouble alerts.
2. View the listed trouble events. If there are more than three alerts, use the ↑ and ↓ arrows to scroll through the list.
3. After viewing the trouble events, press OK to acknowledge. This will silence the alert beeps.

Nighttime Trouble Alert Holdoff-

As an option, the system can be programmed by your installer to suppress the trouble alert sounder from 10 PM to 9 AM. Any trouble alerts will still be displayed, but the sounder will not beep. Some trouble conditions may clear automatically, other trouble conditions may require service to correct. If the trouble condition still exists after 9 AM, the sounder will beep to indicate trouble. Regardless of whether the trouble alert sounder is suppressed or not, every trouble condition is always displayed on the trouble alert list and recorded in the system history event log.

What do I do if my CONCORD keypad is beeping when the power goes out?

Your Vector Security system has a rechargeable back up battery no matter what type of system you have. The following is instructions if your system is beeping for a Concord system.

Trouble Beeps and Trouble Messages-

When your system detects a problem, it lets you know by sounding trouble beeps from system touchpads and sirens, and by displaying trouble signals as messages on touchpads.
Trouble beeps are a series of five short beeps once a minute.

Silencing Trouble Beeps-

If possible, correct the situation which is causing the trouble beeps. If this is not possible, call for service. If the problem is not corrected, trouble beeps and messages start again 4 or 10 hours later.
Your security system also has a feature that will prevent trouble beeps from starting during nor- mal sleeping hours. This “sleep time” period is normally set from 10 pm to 8 am. Contact your installer if you wish to verify or change this setting.
To silence trouble beeps:
1. Perform a system status check by pressing * on a touchpad,
2. Change the arming level.

Once the power is restored your battery will recharge itself automatically.
